This is a Four-Toed Sengi, Petrodromus tetradactylus. Sengis or Elephant Shrews are beautiful little creatures only found in Africa. They are characterized by their mobile, lengthened snouts, and long hind limbs which alow them to escape from predators with long bounds. Although they look like rodents or shrews, they are actually more closely related to Elephants! They are part of the Afrotheria, a group that also includes Aardvarks, Hyraxes, Tenrecs, Golden Moles, Dugongs and Manatees. This is a watercolour painting.
Hi Angelina, well thanks ... from you it means a lot, your portrait sketches are great! I'll see if I can find some time and do a Natalie Portman one for you, how about that?
