This would be more accurately termed a Southern White-faced Owl, Ptilopsis granti, since it has been recently split off from the Northern White-faced Owl, Ptilopsis leucotis. In turn they've also recently both been split off from the Scops and Screech owls, the genus Otus and Megascops. At any rate, this is a small, pretty owl living in Africa south of the Equator. Watercolour.
I love the coloring on this one! The way there's a lot of subtle variations in the color, like the greens and purples in the branch, make this very interesting to look at. I'm impressed that you can get this much detail with watercolor too!
