Rattling Cisticola

This little birdie is a Rattling Cisticola, Cisticola chiniana, one of the most abundant small birds in northern South Africa.  They're named for the typical rattling endings to their territorial calls.  They eat insects, mainly taken low down in the grass or on the ground.  They have a harsh alarm call, which is heard perhaps even more frequently than their territorial calls.  Acrylic.
