Sumatran Rhino

The Sumatran Rhino, Dicerorhinus sumatrensis, is the only Asian rhino that has two horns. It is also quite hairy unlike the other rhinos that have naked skins. This is also the smallest extant rhino species, reaching a ton or so in bodyweight. It is very rare; in the past it wasn't and was widespread, on the southeast Asian mainland as well as on the islands of Sumatra and Borneo. Today it survives in those areas but only in a few tiny spots, mostly inaccessible mountain forest regions. The extinct woolly rhino might have been a relative of this one.
